La societ\u00e0 ha subito valutato la sua scoperta, che si dice potrebbe contenere 850 miliardi di metri cubi di gas in una zona che copre 100 km quadrati.<br \/>\nIl pozzo della scoperta, \u00a0Zohr 1X NFW, \u00e8 stato perforato a 1450 metri di profondit\u00e0\u00a0d&#8217;\u00a0acqua, nel blocco Shorouk, ed \u00a0ha incontrato circa 630 metri di colonna di idrocarburi in una sequenza carbonatica di et\u00e0 Miocenica con ottime propriet\u00e0 della roccia serbatoio. Lo sviluppo del Mediterraneo \u00e8 stato paralizzato per parecchio tempo e quest&#8217; ultima scoperta si trova a modificare il flusso di gas da altre\u00a0importanti recenti scoperte \u00a0.<\/p>\n<p>Il Ministro Nazionale delle Infrastrutture, dell&#8217; Energia e dell&#8217; Acqua di Israele, <strong>Yuval Steinitz<\/strong>, ha dichiarato\u00a0al Jerusalem Post: &#8220;<em>La scoperta dell&#8217;enorme giacimento di gas in Egitto ci\u00a0ricorda con rammarico che mentre lo stato di Israele \u00e8 \u00a0ancora in attesa di approvazione della bozza del\u00a0gas, \u00a0ritardando ulteriormente l&#8217;esplorazione, il mondo sta cambiando sotto i nostri occhi, e pensa gi\u00e0 alle possibilit\u00e0 di esportazione<\/em>&#8220;.<br \/>\nMentre Israele ha fatto progressi, quest&#8217; ultima scoperta pu\u00f2 escludere\u00a0l&#8217;Egitto come client di esportazione. The company will immediately appraise its discovery, which it says might hold 30 tcf of lean gas in place in an area covering 100 sq km.<br \/>\nThe Zohr 1X NFW discovery well was drilled to a total depth of 13,553 ft in 4,757 ft of water on Egypt\u2019s Shorouk Block 9. The well hit a 2,067-ft hydrocarbon column in a carbonate sequence of Miocene age with 400 m of net pay, Eni said. The company has future plans to target a deeper Cretaceous upside with a dedicated well.<br \/>\nZohr is the largest gas discovery made in Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea, and if early estimates hold true, could become one of the world\u2019s largest natural gas finds, the company said. As Eni begins to fast track development for the Zohr discovery, the Mediterranean region looks on. Egypt\u2019s Sharouk Block is on the country\u2019s offshore boundary, and is in close proximity to Cyprus\u2019 Block 12 containing the Aphrodite discovery and Isreal\u2019s Leviathan discovery. Mediterranean development has been gridlocked for quite some time, and this latest discovery stands to alter the flow of gas from other recent major discoveries (OGJ Online, Apr. 7, 2014).<\/p>\n<p>Isreal\u2019s National Infrastructure, Energy, and Water Minister <strong>Yuval Steinitz<\/strong> told The Jerusalem Post: \u201cFollowing the reports, the discovery of the huge gas field in Egypt is a painful reminder that while the state of Isreal is standing still and taking its time with the final approval of the gas outline, and delaying further exploration, the world is changing before our very eyes, also with ramifications on export possibilities.\u201d<br \/>\nWhile Isreal has made progress, this latest discovery may take away Egypt as an export client (OGJ Online, Apr. 6, 2015). Analysts with Raymond James &amp; Associates Inc. noted that development of the Zohr discovery is not realistic before 2020, but the long-term opportunity is supportive of greater energy independence for Egypt.
